Jamshedpur-based business school XLRI and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance on Saturday launched a post-graduate programme in management & insurance (PGPMI).
XLRI says its one-year management course will help those who want to make it big in the insurance sector, which is witnessing an unprecedented growth in the country.
The course has been designed to provide a platform for budding sales professionals, taking into consideration the huge opportunities in the sector.
ICICI Prudential has promised to take on as executive trainees those who successfully complete the course and pay them what MBAs get.
The post-graduate programme will cover general management, insurance and finance.
The general management module in the course will consist of areas such as marketing, statistics & economics, organisational behaviour & personality development, business communication, business strategy, and legal aspects in business and information technology.
The two-module course, spread over three trimesters and followed by a two-month internship with ICICI Prudential, will give the students the opportunity to apply the skills learnt in the classroom. ICICI Prudential?s domain expertise will be used in the module on insurance & finance.
