Sugar prices softened by Rs 25 per quintal in the national capital as fresh supply created adequate stocks position amid reduced offtake.
Marketmen said increased arrivals from mills supported by lack of buying support from retailers and stockist, pulled down the sugar prices.
Sugar ready medium and second grade price slipped from Rs 2,500-2,575 and Rs 2,450-2,550 to settle at Rs 2,475-2,550 and Rs 2,425-2,525 per quintal respectively.
Mill delivery medium and second grade price also dipped from Rs 2,340-2,425 and Rs 2,310-2,410 to Rs 2,320-2,410 and Rs 2,300-2,400 per quintal respectively.
Among millgate section, Kinoni and Asmoli lost by Rs 10 each to both settle at Rs 2,410 per quintal respectively.
Thanabhavan and Budhana also quoted lower at Rs 2,400 each per quintal, while nanota dropped by Rs 20 to Rs 2,350 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 2,320-2,410 and S-30 2,300-2,400.
