Continuing its record-breaking spree, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark hit yet another intra-session high of 15,075.30 points in early trade today on sustained buying by funds in heavy-weight stocks.
The BSE-30 share Sensex, which had crossed 15k level on Friday, shot up by another 111.18 points, or 0.63 per cent to scale the record intra-session high of 15,075.30 in the first five minutes of trading.
Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange’s Nifty was up by 32.45 points at 4,417.30, a new intra-day high.
Stock brokers said most of the index-related stocks were in the positive zone with sizeable gains, lifting the Sensex to the high.
Major contributers to the rise in the Sensex were Reliance Industries, Larsen and Toubro, Bharti Telecom, TCS, Wipro, Grasim Industries and Gujarat Ambuja Cement.
