Maytas Infra Ltd has reported a net loss of Rs 489.79 crore during the year ended March 31, 2009 as against a net profit of Rs 99.64 crore in the previous year.

The topline of the company had also taken a hit to the extent of 19% to Rs 1,335 crore from Rs 1,637 crore during the year ended March 2008. According to a company statement, there is an increase in personnel cost to the tune of Rs 55 crore. This works out to about 8% of the total revenue.

Similarly, the company has also experienced increase in the interest cost and depreciation cost by Rs 141 crore and Rs 35 crore respectively over the previous year. The increase in these cost elements can be attributed to under absorption of fixed cost due to reporting lower level of operation as against planned for the year.
