THERE?S GOOD news for manga aficionados in the country. Previously available only online, the world-famous comics will now be available for sale in major bookstores across India, including big chains like Landmark and Crossword, as well as standalone ones, at Indian prices.
This has been made possible by VIZ Media, a Japanese entertainment company headquartered in San Francisco, US, renewing its sales and distribution partnership with Simon & Schuster India. This means the comics will be more affordable, with Simon & Schuster saying prices will be down by 20% .
Some popular manga series for boys (Shonen) that will be available in the country are Naruto, Bakuman, Bleach, One Piece, Deathnote, Yu-Gi-Ho, Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Shojo, for girls, will be included soon.
?India has an avid fan base of manga, and Simon & Schuster India is thrilled to be able to offer fans some of the hottest manga titles published by VIZ Media,? says Rahul Srivastava, MD, Simon & Schuster India.
Additionally, manga comics are also available for the first time at the ongoing Comic Con 2014, at Simon & Schuster India?s stall, in New Delhi.
