Please refer to the editorial (?Growth booster??, Oct 27). We are sorry to point out that the editorial has not looked into the documents presented along with the Supplementary Demands for Grants. The gross borrowing estimates for 2008-09 is Rs 1,45,146 crore and not Rs 1,35,000 crore. The Supplementary Demands for Grants presented to Parliament recently was for Rs 2,37,286 crore on a gross basis. The net cash outgo will be only Rs 1,05,613 crore. The statement that Rs 1,00,000 crore is unaccounted is a thoughtless and baseless statement. The documents presented to Parliament explain each transaction and the source of financing of the transaction.
