IT giants IBM has announced that it had entered into a $3.1 million IT infrastructure services agreement with financial services group Religare Enterprises Ltd (REL) and would be deploying three energy efficient and green scalable modular data centres (SMDCs) under the agreement.
IBM, which would design, build and maintaining highly scalable, modular and energy-efficient green data centers in Delhi, Noida and Mumbai for REL, would also be developing the networking infrastructure and disaster recovery solution for the company.
According to a statement from IBM, the solution, which was said to enable REL to reduce 30 – 35% of its annual power costs, would save the company a sum of nearly $250,000 per annum.
REL was also looking at the IBM scalable solutions, as an effective method for coping with its growing technology needs while it expanded its market share.
