Godrej Capital, led by MD and CEO Manish Shah, plans to achieve a Rs 5,000-crore gold loan portfolio and Rs 1 lakh crore in assets under management by 2031. The company sees gold loans as a promising segment due to the rise in formal borrowing against gold. Its recent acquisition of Kanakadurga Finance’s gold loan business adds Rs 280 crore.
