Indian Railways is all set to roll out the Humsafar Express in October, meeting another promise made by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu during his Railway Budget speech. Humsafar Express has been envisioned as a fully air-conditioned three-tier service. It is one of the three trains that were announced for reserved passengers. <br /><br /> The others Tejas and UDAY, are still in works. Humsafar Express is being made at the Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Kapurthala and FE Online has learned that two rakes of the new train are currently in the final stages of manufacturing. The Humsafar Express will also have an optional service for meals. Prabhu, in his Rail Budget speech, had said, that Humsafar and Tejas trains will ensure cost recovery by way of tariff and non-tariff measures. <br /><br /> And in line with that, Indian Railways plans to keep the fares of Humsafar Express around 20% higher thatn that of normal Mail and Express services.
