One gets solicited and unsolicited advice from friends and dear ones but the best advice that I got was from Randy Pausch, the computer scientist and Carnegie Mellon professor. I was impressed by the ?Last Lecture? by him, who died fighting a battle from pancreatic cancer. ?It is not about achieving your dreams but living your life. His lecture on ?Really achieving your childhood dreams?, takes as its theme his youthful ambitions: how he achieved them, and how he helped others to achieve theirs. He doesn?t discuss spirituality or religion, but speaks with the simple authority of a man who is looking death in the face and assessing what?s really important about life. ?Never lose the childlike wonder,? he advises. ?Show gratitude… Don?t complain; just work harder… Never give up.?
