Nearly 30 protests are reported to have been planned outside the parliament as the Winter Session is about to begin on Wednesday. The government has been warned to remain prepared for protests and clashes inside the Parliament over the demonisation drive, among other issues. The Delhi Police is known to have sent a list of 30 planned agitations, including 6 gherao programmes to the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariat.
These 30-odd agitations are likely to take place during the month-long Winter session that starts from November 16. Various protests on different issues such as the triple talaq, the case of the Najeeb Ahmad, missing JNU student, reservation in the private sector among other things will hold precedence. The Delhi Police, in its assessment report on the law and order situation, believes that the case of missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmad is likely to make a comeback.
It was also reported by the IE, the All India Tanjeem Ulema-e-Islam, an organisation of the Muslim Ulemas has plans of organising a protest on the issue of triple talaq and the Uniform Civil Code on November 18. The assessment report by the Delhi Police also states that a couple of gauraksha units, who are currently holding protests at the Jantar Mantar, seeking laws on the protection of cows are also to continue with similar activities during the session.
