The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released the online application for admission into MPhil, PhD programmes in various departments for the 2017-18 academic session at jmicoe.in. Candidates who are willing to apply can refer to the official website. The last date of receiving the online application is September 28, 2017. However, hard copies of application forms of JMI PhD and MPhil admissions is October 11, according to NDTV.

A fee of Rs 1500 will be charged from each candidates applying for various departments. The online forms can be edited with corrections if any between September 29 and Oct 3, 2017. The university will issue the admit cards for admission test on October 13 and the entrance examination will be conducted on October 22 between 10 am and 1 pm, as per the university notification.

Recently the university, had concluded the admission process graduate, post graduate and diploma courses for the academic year 2017-2018. On May this year, the university has released an official notification regarding re-opening of the application process for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme. The statement said that the admission to BDS programme will be done strictly as per merit based on NEET 2017 ranking.

The Jamia Millia Islamia University was ranked among the top global universities in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2018. The university featured in the 801-1000 ranks list this year out of 1102 institutions worldwide. Of the 42 institutions from India, Islamia University is in 18th position. The institutions were examined on five elements- teaching, research, citations, industry income and international outlook, each carrying 13 marks, as per the New Indian Express.
