At least 80 people are believed to have lost their lives to the devastating Texas flash floods, with the tragic death toll only expected to rise further. Dozens more remain missing, while search efforts have hit a setback as the physical destruction and wreckage in the aftermath of the Guadalupe River overflowing during rains have left massive debris along the way.
The Central Texas flooding on Friday resulted in the river near Kerrville surging 20 to 26 feet, in turn causing damage to trees and roads. As per a New York Post report, at least 68 people were killed in Kerr County, while 12 others were died in other counties. The deceased in the former country included 40 adults and 28 children.
Shocking Texas flood videos emerge: Entire house swept away by deluge
Amid the desperate search for those missing, heart-rending visuals of the Texas floods hit the Internet. While some clips have offered a time-lapse glimpse at the fast-rising river in the state, another widely circulated video provided a look at an entire house floating down the water-stream during the flood.

CNN and The Post shared a clip of the eye-widening scene as originally captured by Gavin Walston, a Center Point resident, that showed the quickly risen floodwaters carrying heavy pieces of debris, including tall trees and a house. As per Walston’s account, fortunately, there were no people trapped inside it at the time. However, a cat appeared to have been caught inside as the turbulent current swept the house away.
What was once an abode for a family was eventually seen crashing into a bridge around 7:40 am local time. It even uprooted trees in its destructive path. The recorded video runs for 37 minutes and captures visuals of state highway 480 or Old San Antonio Road. During his now-successful attempt to film the wreckage, at one point, Walston even nearly got crushed by a tree knocked down along other debris floating around. He ultimately escaped what then seemed like a close call.
