Lizzo is stepping into a new era, one defined by balance, strength, and self-acceptance. In a recent interview, the 37-year-old artist revealed the routine that helped her release 16% of her body fat over the past two years. The singer, known for championing body positivity, shared that she began prioritising her physical health following a difficult period in 2023, when she was hit with sexual harassment and weight-shaming allegations accusations she has denied. While one lawsuit remains ongoing, Lizzo was dropped from a related case in December 2024.

What is on her plate?

Lizzo’s day begins with a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and cauliflower hash browns. For lunch, she rotates between shredded Thai chicken salad, lettuce wraps with tuna, or sliced chicken breast. Dinner is her most consistent meal and the earliest. At 5 p.m., she typically eats turkey meatloaf, cauliflower mashed potatoes, and green beans. The early timing, she explained, helps manage her GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), a condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus. “My body needs time to digest food before I go to sleep, so acid doesn’t roll up to my throat,” she said.

Lizzo has also made changes to her snacking habits. She now prefers low-sugar Greek yogurt topped with berries and a drizzle of honey. Once a fan of multiple Frappuccinos a day, she now limits herself to one coffee mixed with vanilla protein. That said, she is not afraid of the occasional treat. “There’s a balance,” Lizzo said, noting that she still enjoys chicken tenders with waffles, crab legs, or a coconut cream-filled doughnut. “I think that’s what true health is.”

No Ozempic, No Surgery”

Addressing ongoing speculation, Lizzo confirmed she did not take Ozempic or any other weight loss drugs during her transformation. While she briefly considered cosmetic procedures like a tummy tuck, she ultimately chose a natural approach. “I didn’t take Ozempic,” she stated. “I thought about weight loss surgery, but I wanted to try it my way first.” By January 2025, Lizzo says she had met her personal “weight release goal,” lowering her BMI by 10.5 points and significantly improving her overall health. But for her, this transformation was less about numbers and more about reclaiming control. “I released weight, I didn’t lose it,” she emphasised. “Because I didn’t lose anything. I gained strength, clarity, and peace.”
