Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg surpassed Oracle founder Larry Ellison to become the third-wealthiest person in the world on Monday (January 6), according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaire List. This comes after a back-and-forth exchange between the two tech moguls on Friday.

Zuckerberg’s net worth rose more than 4%, reaching $217.7 billion after market close on Monday, while Ellison’s declined by 0.3%, bringing his net worth to $209 billion.

The changes in their net worths reflected the movements in their companies’ stocks on Monday. Zuckerberg’s Meta stock closed at $630.20, a 4% increase, while Ellison’s Oracle stock closed down 0.3% at $165.78.

Zuckerberg and Ellison had swapped positions between third and fourth place on Friday, January 3, with Ellison finishing the day ahead.

Elon Musk remains the wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of $425.2 billion, followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose net worth stands at $241 billion.
