The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Thursday released a video detailing their ongoing strikes deep inside Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah positions. The video alleges that Hezbollah has been hiding weapons within densely populated areas, turning southern Lebanon into a “launch pad” for attacks against Israel.

“For the last 20 years, Hezbollah built its terror network within population centres in Lebanon,” the IDF said. It accused the militant group of embedding weapons in Lebanese homes, with the aim of targeting Israeli civilians.

The IDF’s video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), is seen as a move to counter criticism of its operations in residential areas. “Hezbollah doesn’t want you to watch this video. And they really don’t want you to share it,” it said in the video posted on X.

The military clarified that its strikes are aimed at preventing imminent attacks planned by Hezbollah, with a goal to destroy weapons intended for use against Israel. “Our goal is to make sure that Israeli families can safely and securely return to their homes,” IDF stated.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed the country’s stance against Hezbollah. Speaking en route to New York for the U.N. General Assembly, he said, “Israel is striking Hezbollah with full force and will not stop until its goals are achieved.”

Netanyahu’s comments come as international pressure mounts, with U.S. and European officials calling for a 21-day ceasefire to facilitate negotiations. However, Israeli leaders remain firm, aiming to end over 11 months of cross-border fire from Hezbollah, which has already forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of northern Israeli residents.
