Over the years, Dubai has evolved as a popular attraction for tourists from across the world. It is known for offering extravagant lifestyles, luxury shopping and ultramodern architecture. Along with these, one cannot ignore the tall skyscrapers that fill the entire skyline of the city. To add another gem to its list of architectural milestones, the city of Dubai recently broke its own record by opening the world’s tallest hotel which is just 1 meter taller than the JW Marriott Marquis. Up until now, the JW Marriott Marquis held the distinction for being the tallest hotel in the city and the world at a height of 355 meters. That record was broken when Dubai’s Gevora Hotel grabbed that spot by beating the JW Marriott to the second spot by 1 metres. The Gevora Hotel is 356 meters tall.

The Gevora Hotel is a 75-storey building that has a total of 528 rooms. The hotel according to media reports is all gold and the guests of the Gerova hotel will get to enter its through the solid gold revolving doors. Interestingly, the Gerova Hotel is just 50 meters taller than the Shard that is located in London and just 56 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower in Italy. This 75- storey, all-gold hotel is situated near the Dubai International Financial Centre.

At number 7 is the Baiyoke Tower II that is located in Bangkok, Thailand. The hotel is 309 meters tall. The hotel is the second tallest building in the city after MahaNakhon and comprises the Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It is an 88-storey building.

At number 6 is Dubai’s Jumeirah Emirates Hotel Tower which is also known as the Emirates Tower Two. This is a 56-storey hotel in Dubai which stands tall at a height of 309 m like the Baiyoke Tower II in Bangkok.

Located in Dubai, the Burj Al Arab is at the number 5 spot in the list of world’s tallest hotels. It is a luxury hotel which stands tall at the height of 321 m. The shape of this hotel is designed to resemble the sail of a ship. This 28 double-story hotel has a total of 202 rooms.

This hotel building in the city of Kuala Lumpur is yet to open and currently under construction. It currently holds the number 3 spot in the list as it stands tall at the height of 342.5 m.
