A man helped a woman deliver her baby on a train platform at Mumbai’s Ram Mandir Railway Station early Thursday morning, with instructions from a doctor over a video call.
Musician Manjeet Dhillon, shared the story on Instagram, along with a video and described the incident in the caption of his post.
According to Dhillon’s post, the woman went into labour while travelling on a train around 1 am. The situation became critical and Vikas Bendre pulled the emergency chain at Ram Mandir Station.
Dhillon recounted that the baby was partially delivered, creating a life-threatening moment.
“I still get chills saying this. The woman’s baby was halfway out, half inside and half outside. At that very moment, it truly felt like God had sent this brother there for a reason,” Dhillon said in his post.
Since no ambulance or medical staff were available immediately, Vikas contacted his friend, Dr Devika Deshmukh through video call.
Crefully Following her guidance carefully, Dhillon successfully helped the woman deliver her baby safely on the platform.
He also revealed that the woman’s family was earlier turned away by the nearby hospital when they took her. Thus, forcing them to return on the train.
Applauding Vikas, Dhillon added: “That night, this man became the reason two lives were saved. Many people were just watching and walking away, but we couldn’t because we are human. If you ever get a chance to help someone, take it as a sign from God and do it, my friends.”
The mother and child were later transported safely to a hospital, and both are reported to be healthy.
