Even after retirement from Tests and T20Is, Virat Kohli continues to reshape cricketing history. The former India captain recently became the first batter in the history of the game to achieve over 900 ICC rating points in all three international formats. This historic achievement came about after the International Cricket Council (ICC) all-time T20I rankings on Wednesday.

According to Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack, a highly respected annual publication known for its comprehensive coverage of cricket, including statistics, match reports, and records. Kohli’s peak T20I rating has now been revised from 897 to 909, placing him just behind England’s Dawid Malan (919) and India’s Suryakumar Yadav (912) in the list of highest-ever T20I batting ratings.

Kohli’s highest rating points in the ICC Men’s Test Rankings are 937, the highest for an Indian batter and overall 11th-highest of all time. He achieved this incredible milestone back in 2018 during the tour to England, where he hammered 593 runs in 10 innings with two centuries and three fifties.

Kohli’s ODI rating points peaked at 909 as well during the tour to England back in 2018, during which he scored 191 runs in three ODIs, including two half-centuries. At the peak of his limited-overs career, Virat was once regarded as the number one batter in ICC Men’s Test, ODI and T20I Rankings simultaneously.

Kohli, who retired from T20Is with 4,188 runs in 125 appearances with a savage average of 48.69, has 25 fifties and a maiden century to his name. With his personal best of 122 not out against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022, Kohli remains the third-highest run-getter in the format’s history.

Still active in ODIs, Kohli has scored 14,181 runs in 302 matches. With a personal best score of 183, Kohli remains the third-highest run-getter of all time in ODIs and the second-highest for India.

In total, Kohli has amassed 27,599 international runs at an average of 52.27, making him India’s second-highest run-scorer and third overall globally, only behind Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara.
