India is set to face China in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup Hockey 2025 at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Hockey Field on Sunday (September 14). India booked their spot in the finals after securing a hard-fought draw against Japan in the Semi-final.

Korea needed to beat China in the last semifinals by two goals to push India away; however, the host prevailed 1-0 to pave the way for India’s entry into the last stage of the tournament. This decisive match holds even greater significance as the winner will book a direct spot in the FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2026, to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.

India vs China women’s hockey final: AI Prediction

Ahead of the match, Artificial Intelligence (AI) bots, ChatGPT and Perplexity were asked to predict the winner of the upcoming final. Based on the analysis of their past encounters, GPT and Perplexity gave out the following prediction.

Both ChatGPT and Perplexity predicted the final to be a close contest. Perplexity strongly favoured China to win the game in light of their unbeaten Super 4s run and recent dominant 4-1 win over India in the tournament.

ChatGPT, however, posted a win probability of 52-48 in favour of China. The bot built by OpenAI presented similar reasons for backing the Chinese side as Perplexity. However, the AI bot also took India’s superior defensive capabilities into account to only give China a marginal upper edge in the game.

“The final is likely to be tight. Not many goals expected, especially in the first half. China will try to attack early and score first to establish dominance. India will likely try to absorb pressure, rely on stamina, structured defence, and counter-attacks,” the bot posted.
