Five-time Olympic speedskating champion Claudia Pechstein has accused the International Skating Union of having a ”sick mindset” for criticizing her campaign to clear doping allegations.

Pechstein says ”the ISU bosses live in their own world. A world in which fair play is just an empty phrase and the rules of law don’t play a role.”

She berates the governing body for saying ”there was no evidence I didn’t dope,” adding ”imagine a defendant being sentenced in a court of law as a car thief because there was no evidence he stole the car.”

The ISU on Thursday blasted Pechstein’s ”massive media campaign” and suggested experts who spoke in her defense were partial.

Pechstein insists her blood values that led to a ban in 2009 are due to a genetic condition.
