As Team India prepares for the five-match Test series against England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has offered fans a candid and cheerful peek into the players’ minds. In a video shared on BCCI’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, Indian cricketers were asked to name the top three things that come to their mind when they think of England.

New Test captain Shubman Gill led the way with a classic cricketing answer: the Dukes ball. He also mentioned England’s famously unpredictable weather and the thrilling atmosphere of English crowds.

Youngster Sai Sudharsan kept it light and relatable with “weather, hot chocolate, and Dukes.” All-rounder Washington Sundar focused on swing and seam conditions, India’s past wins, and food.

Pacer Prasidh Krishna echoed the cricketing vibe with mentions of the Dukes ball and weather but also shared his love for English coffee and walking the streets with a warm cup in hand.

Comeback man Karun Nair summed up England with “character, test, and culture,” while Yashasvi Jaiswal offered a poetic trio—“beautiful, Lord’s, houses”—highlighting the allure of England’s scenic charm and historic venues.

Shardul Thakur added a grounded touch: “greenery, coffee, weather,” capturing the serenity he associates with the English experience.
