Making a strong pitch to Japanese investors, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday cited a slew of incentives on offer.

“We assure that we will improve the business environment for Japanese companies for assisting in setting up industrial parks by facilitating prompt land acquisition, providing adequate infrastructure, environmental clearances and other incentives,’’ Naidu said, while addressing a CII session on “Expanding technology cooperation for smart community in Andhra Pradesh”. The session was organised by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO) and ministry of economy trade and industry (METI), government of Japan.

Naidu said a separate industrial city would come up in the state to attract Japanese investors. He invited Japanese firms to invest in the development of the new state capital and in various sectors with a promise of faster clearances, allotment of land, round-the-clock electricity supply, water and hassle-free business environment.

“The state government will accord approvals and necessary clearances through its single-desk system in just 21 days. In the power sector, we are targeting to bring down aggregate technical & commercial (AT&C) losses to single digit, which could be about 9% against the central government target of 12%,’’ he said.
