Manushi Chillar Miss World 2017: The country is going ga-ga over the crowning of Haryana girl Manushi Chillar who has won the coveted title of Miss World and made the entire nation proud. The crown which was last held by India through Bollywood and now Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra in 2000 is back again after a span of 17 long years! Manushi Chillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in China. Chillar, a 21-year-old from Haryana, had made it to the top five earlier at the Miss World 2017 pageant here. Before Manushi, the crown was won by five Indian women, take a look at who they are:

Reita Faria was the first Asian woman to win the Miss World crown in 1966. She went on to become the first Miss World winner to qualify as a doctor who went on to hold the Miss World title. (IE)

17 years after Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World, the girl from Haryana Manushi Chillar has made the country proud at the big stage. India's Chillar has won the much prized Miss World 2017 pageant on Saturday. The event was held in China and 108 contestants from various countries participated in the mega event held at Sanya Arena in China. Manushi Chillar received the much-desired crown from previous year's Miss World winner Stephanie Del Valle from Puerto Rico. Earlier this year, Chillar had won the Femina Miss India 2017.
