Ittefaq movie review: Director Abhay Chopra’s thriller “Ittefaq” is purportedly a whodunit mystery centering on double murders. A celebrated UK-based writer named Vikram Sethi (Sidharth Malhotra) who is in Mumbai for his book launch, is accused of his wife Catherine’s murder. Catherine is found dead by him in their hotel room one night, according to IANS. Escaping from the police to prove his innocence, he seeks shelter in the house of a lady Maya (Sonakshi Sinha), whose husband, lawyer Shekhar Sinha, has also been murdered. How investigating officer Dev (Akshaye Khanna) steps in to take charge and investigate the case in the three-day deadline and how the truth unfurls, forms the crux of this film. Ribbon movie review: There is a certain honesty in Rakhee Sandilya’s directorial debut, “Ribbon”. It is about the joy and sacrifices of being in love and also about the pressures of young responsibility. It is the story of a young couple, Sahana, a marketing analyst, and Karan, a civil engineer, living as a nuclear family in Mumbai. The story by Eklavya Singh Bhati is original and the dialogues are everyday fare, according to IANS. It reveals the personalities of the characters and propels the narrative forward without many sub-plots. The narrative begins without much ado plunging directly into the scene where Sahana finds out that she is pregnant and is in a dilemma with regard to her career prospects. This is the sort of touching realism you wouldn’t expect from a regular film and yet it lends weight and importance to the sequences that follow. (Photo: Bollywood Hungama)

Thor: Ragnarok movie review: Marvel Studios and Disney’s critically acclaimed movie Thor: Ragnarok that stars Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Anthony Hopkins in the lead role hit the silver screen today. In this edition of Thor, Chris Hemsworth is not seen carrying a cape and the golden-locked blue-eyed Nordic god is still looking great. Coupled with the performances, the VFX team has done an equally brilliant job of bringing a fantasy world to life. This is also Marvels' first film that for the first time has a female villain on screen, with Blanchett clearly enjoying her own take on Maleficent. According to Bollywood Hungama, THOR: RAGNAROK that features witty one-liners, sarcastic humour and plenty of action makes for a fun watch. Well timed comic sequences and well-choreographed action sequences aplenty make the film a perfect masala entertainer. (Photo: Bollywood Hungama)
