The 26-year-old Qandeel Baloch was 'apparently' killed, according to the police, by her brother Wasim Azeem, who has disappeared thereafter. It has also been revealed that the model was killed while she slept at the family's home. It is not clear whether she was administered any poisonous substance before the actual killing, but the police is investigating that angle too. (Twitter)

According to district police chief Azhar Akram, Qandeel Baloch, "… was suffocated to death by strangulation. It seems to be a case of honour killing but we are investigating it." (Reuters)

Qandeel Baloch became quite famous due to her social media postings in which she said she would strip if the Pakistan cricket team won a trophy. She has also ruffled many orthodox feathers most recently by posting selfies with Mufti Adbul Qavi in a hotel room where she is seen wearing his fur-lined hat. (Twitter)
