Ind vs SL Kotla Test: In a surprising turn of events, the Sri Lankan cricket team on Day 2 of the third test between India and Sri Lanka disrupted play thrice over complaints of poor air quality and virtually forced the hosts to declare their first innings at 536 for 7 at Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla. A number of Sri Lankan fielders Lahiru Gamage, Dhananjaya De Silva, Lakmal and others resorted to wearing pollution masks while fielding and stopped play for 26 minutes. Sri Lanka’s interim coach also complained of poor air quality and said that the fielders and pacers vomited inside the change room when match referee was present. Third day at Feroz Shah Kotla is under cloud as both teams are expected to sort out the issue. Angry BCCI, meanwhile, has called the halting of the game a deliberate tactic to disrupt the match: -
