<b>Salman Khan gets HC's permission to go to Dubai: </b> The Bombay High Court today granted permission to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is out on bail after being convicted in the 2002 hit-and-run case, to travel abroad for a show. Salman Khan's lawyer said the actor will surrender his passport to the police within 12 hours of his return. Since Salman is now a convict, he will have to inform the Indian Consulate in Dubai about his entry and exit. "Since the applicant (Salman) is ready to abide by the conditions, his application deserves to be allowed," the High Court said. "Salman shall furnish his travel plan, flight timing and number, address of the place where he will be staying in Dubai, his contact details including mobile number and landline number to the investigating agency," Justice Phansalkar-Joshi said. The court further directed Salman to submit additional cash security of Rs two lakh before the trial court prior to leaving the country. On May 6, Salman was convicted by a sessions court of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sentenced to five years in jail in the 2002 hit-and-run case. (PTI) (26/05/2015)

It may also replace a language provided after replacement the candidate has English/Hindi as one of the languages. (c) Additional language offered at elective level replaces an elective subject provided after replacement; the number of languages offered does not exceed two.

<b>More than 'Suit-Boot', BJP is 'Jhooth-Mooth ki sarkar', says Manish Tewari: </b> Dubbing the NDA Government as a 'Jhooth-Mooth ki Sarkar', Congress leader Manish Tewari on Tuesday said the present government should get a Bharat Ratna for its incompetence and all-round failure. "The last one year has demonstrated that the BJP Government is not only the Government of corporates, by corporates and for the corporates, but more than a Suit-Boot ki sarkar, it is Jhooth-Mooth ki sarkar," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said. <b>AAP govt row: Arvind Kejriwal meets LG : </b> In the midst of a bitter power tussle, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and discussed functioning of the elite Anti-Corruption Bureau, a day after Delhi High Court ruled that it has authority to probe central government officials, including Delhi Police personnel. In the meeting which lasted for around 20 minutes, Kejriwal apprised Jung of the High Court ruling about the powers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and his views on the issue, sources said. This is the first meeting between two since the confrontation began. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Chief Secretary K K Sharma accompanied Kejriwal. (PTI) (26/05/2015)

<b>Moga molestation case: </b> A 23-year-old teacher was allegedly molested by driver of a school van after taking the vehicle to an isolated area near here, police said today. A case was registered yesterday against the accused Sukhraj Singh with Moga police yesterday. According to the complaint lodged by the victim, the driver took his vehicle to a secluded area yesterday after dropping the school kids to their residences and allegedly molested her inside the van. When the victim raised an alarm, the accused dragged her out of the car. The driver managed to escape when some passerby came to the woman's rescue after hearing her cry for help, according to the complaint. <b>Govt ready to help in construction of Ram temple, says Union minister: </b> Union minister Shripad Naik today said the government is ready to aid the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. "The government is ready to help in the construction of Ram Mandir (at Ayodhya). But the issue should be resolved mutually (amicably). The government can provide help, but the actual construction should be done by organisations which are fighting for it," Naik said responding to a question during a press conference here. Notably, Naik's statement came a day after the RSS and VHP pushed for the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, asking the BJP to fulfil its Lok Sabha poll promise in this regard. "We consider this as a work for nation…the issue is currently subjudice. If land is available, then the temple can be constructed," the minister said. (PTI) (26/05/2015)

<b>Arvind Kejriwal drops plea in BJP leader Nitin Gadkari case: </b> Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today withdrew from Delhi High Court his case filed against a trial court decision sending him to jail in a defamation complaint by Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nitin Gadkari. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Ashutosh Kumar allowed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal to withdraw the case after his counsel pleaded that he does not want to pursue the matter anymore. "I want to withdraw the present petition," Arvind Kejriwal's counsel told the court. On April 17, the Supreme Court had stayed Kejriwal's prosecution in two criminal defamation cases. <b>Firing in Mumbai's film city: </b> Three persons, who were allegedly involved in the firing incident that took place in Film City last week here which left owner of a security agency critically injured, have been arrested, police said today. The accused — the plotters of the incident — have been identified as Sumit Talekar (22), Jugal Dodiya (26), and Yogesh Kokane (31), he said. Police said three others – the shooters — Suresh Gaikwad, Sandip Khairnar, and Ramesh Kamble are at large and efforts are on to nab them. According to a statement issued by Mumbai police, the accused orchestrated the attack to take revenge over a fight with Raju Shinde (who was shot at) last month, when they went to him in connection with a job. "A month ago, Kokane and three of his friends — Suresh Gaikwad, Rakesh Kamble, and Sandeep Khairnar approached Shinde for a contract in Film City. But they ended up in argument with Shinde who beat and kicked them out," it said. "Then they decided to kill Shinde and took a motorcycle and went to film city and opened fire at him,” statement said. (Representational Image: Reuters) (26/05/2015)
