"I don't perceive a summer of discomfort but it's not a comfortable situation where you have this sort of regularity with which Pakistani flags are being displayed," Omar said. (PTI) (25/05/2015) <br>China says India 'McMahon Line illegal':</br> Sticking to its stand that McMahon Line on India-China boundary is "illegal", China today said it is ready to work with India to resolve the vexed border issue at an early date through "friendly consultations" to create more favourable conditions for bilateral ties. "The Chinese side holds a consistent and clear position on the eastern section of the China-India boundary," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said, reaffirming Beijing's claims on Arunachal Pradesh, which it says is a part of 'Southern Tibet'. "The Chinese government does not recognise 'the McMahon Line', which is illegal," she said, reacting to National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval's remarks made at the K F Rustamji lecture in New Delhi recently. (PTI) (25/05/2015) <br>Gujjar agitation blocks rail track:</br> On the fifth day of the Gujjar agitation, police today cleared the Jaipur-Agra national highway of the protestors even as the rail track continued to be blocked amid a stand-off with the government over the community's demand for five per cent reservation. The stir suffered a setback in Dausa district where locals challenged the agitators and helped police in clearing the NH-11, which was blocked yesterday, police said. However, the Delhi-Mumbai rail route and a state highway in Sawaimadhopur district continued to be blocked by hundreds of Gujjars who are squatting to press the demand for five per cent reservation for government jobs. The Gujjars had yesterday threatened to intensify the agitation, which has mainly remained confined to Bharatpur and Dausa, and spread it across the state. (PTI) (25/05/2015) <br>AAP says BJP has now taken a U-turn on statehood:</br> Amid confrontation between the Centre and Delhi government, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today fired a fresh salvo at Centre over the statehood issue and said since 1992 the saffron party have been vociferous on its demand for complete statehood for the national capital, but has now taken a U-turn. The party said the BJP had promised both in the 2013 Delhi Assembly manifesto and 2014 General Election to grant full statehood to Delhi, but yet not decision has been taken by the current dispensation. It added that while it was in power at the Centre, its veterans former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani had taken keen interest in drafting the bill for granting full statehood to Delhi. "Ever since its formation in 1992, Bharatiya Janata Party in the National Capital have been vociferous on its demand for complete statehood of Delhi have led several agitations and protests for the same," the party said in a statement. He also termed the performance of Modi government as "an arrogant one man-show," wherein ministers don't count, and ministries don't count. "Modi, despite being the PM is the minister incharge of all the ministries and all other ministers in his government are just mute spectators. Every decision is being taken by him," Ramesh told reporters here, while presenting the report card of Narendra Modi-led NDA government which completes one year in office tomorrow. <b>Govt ready to help in construction of Ram temple, says Union minister: </b> Union minister Shripad Naik today said the government is ready to aid the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. "The government is ready to help in the construction of Ram Mandir (at Ayodhya). But the issue should be resolved mutually (amicably). The government can provide help, but the actual construction should be done by organisations which are fighting for it," Naik said responding to a question during a press conference here. Notably, Naik's statement came a day after the RSS and VHP pushed for the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, asking the BJP to fulfil its Lok Sabha poll promise in this regard. "We consider this as a work for nation…the issue is currently subjudice. If land is available, then the temple can be constructed," the minister said. (PTI) (26/05/2015)
<br>Delhi records season's hottest day,mercury crosses 45 deg mark:</br> Mercury today breached the 45 degree mark in the national capital making it the hottest day of the season so far. "The maximum temperature settled today at 45.5 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average," a MeT official said. The minimum temperature was recorded a notch above the normal at 28 degrees, said MeT department officials. The Palam observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees, also five notches above the season's average. As people reeled under intense heat wave, the humidity level oscillated between 63 and 19 per cent. (PTI) (25/05/2015)
