A teddy bear fitted with sensors that could control the TV in your house? Well that’s what Google is hoping to create and has filed a patent for this as well.

According to a report on Mashable, these teddy bears will have sensors that will let them control media devices. The patent page points out that the toy or doll, could also turn its gaze to the user when it detects movement or sound. Once the toy turns its head towards the user, they can give the command.

No matter how cool this sounds, little children are unlikely to react well to a toy that turns their head towards them. You can expect a lot of screaming and crying if such a ‘toy’ was in the house.

With Google’s patents though, things have to be taken with a pinch of salt. A patent does mean that a product will see the light of day. “We hold patents on a variety of ideas- some of those ideas later mature into real products or services, some don’t,” the company said in an email statement to CNNMoney.

As Internet-of-Things becomes the biggest buzzword for this year, toys too have got added to the list. Now whether this is a creepy or a cool idea, is for users to decide.
