WhatsApp in its latest update of WhatsApp Beta for Android (version 2.24.20.12) is making strides toward enhanced user personalisation with a new default chat theme feature. This upcoming functionality will allow users to choose from a selection of 11 unique themes, enabling them to customise their chat interface with preferred colours for chat bubbles and wallpapers.
According to WaBetaInfo, this update will feature 11 default chat themes, enhancing user customisation options. One of the new themes is a Blue option, designed for both light and dark modes, while an Indigo theme has also been previewed earlier by the WhatsApp news tracking website.
With this new feature, users can personalise their chat experience by choosing themes that align with their preferences. Users selecting dark themes will have the ability to adjust brightness levels for a more comfortable viewing experience in low-light settings.
When a theme is selected, the app will automatically adjust the wallpaper and message bubble colours to match the chosen design, ensuring a cohesive look. Each theme comes with a unique wallpaper that complements the bubble colours, but users can still change the wallpaper independently while keeping the bubble colours the same. This allows for even greater customisation of the chat appearance.
Users will find a new section for theme customisation within the app settings, enabling them to modify the visual style of their conversations. While the selected default theme will apply to all chats, there will be an option to override the theme for specific conversations in future updates. Importantly, only the user will see their chosen theme for particular chats, ensuring a personalised experience without affecting the view for other chat participants.
