Samsung has announced that its next Unpacked launch event will be held on July 10 in Paris, France. The announcement, made today, was accompanied by an animation hinting at foldable devices—Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6—infused with Galaxy AI.
The invitation confirmed these hints with the message: “Prepare to discover the power of Galaxy AI, now infused into the latest Galaxy Z series and the entire Galaxy ecosystem.” Additionally, there’s speculation about the debut of the Galaxy Ring as well as the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. New wireless earphones could be in the offing, too.
Rumours suggest that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will feature only modest upgrades. The Z Flip 6 is expected to have a slightly larger battery, while the Z Fold 6 will sport a boxier design with a wider cover screen. These changes are minor, reflecting a trend seen in recent models of Samsung’s folding phones, which have focused on incremental improvements rather than groundbreaking innovations. We can expect the customary chip upgrade to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The big showstopper of the event might be the Galaxy Ring, a new wearable device that was first teased at Samsung’s January Unpacked event where it launched the Galaxy S24 series of smartphones. A prototype of the Galaxy Ring was showcased at the Mobile World Congress shortly after the initial announcement, generating considerable buzz. While specific details, including pricing and the health sensors included in the ring, have yet to be confirmed, Samsung may reveal full details at its July 10 Unpacked, it is widely expected.
A significant focus of the event will obviously be on Galaxy AI. The integration of AI across Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem is anticipated to be a central theme at the July 10 event.
