Xiaomi spin-off Redmi is gearing up for its next product launch in India after a bit of a lull period. The product in question is a new budget smartphone called the Redmi 13C and it will launch in India on December 6. It was launched a few months ago in select markets outside of China but rumour mill has it that the India-bound model could get some hardware changes.
A 91Mobile report recently said that Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 13C in India with a seemingly more powerful Helio G99 instead of the Helio G85 from MediaTek. Rest of the specifications will likely remain unchanged.
The Redmi 13C’s dedicated listing page on Xiaomi’s website confirms it will launch in two colours: Stardust Black and Star Shine Green. The listing also confirms dual rear cameras headlined by a 50-megapixel main sensor, which is also the case with the global variant of the phone. In a press release sent out to the media today, Xiaomi says the Redmi 13C “won’t strain your budget”.
Spec-wise, the Redmi 13C is expected to come with a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with 720p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Running the show is Android 13-based MIUI. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Redmi 13C is further expected to come with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for depth and an 8-megapixel camera on the front housed inside a waterdrop-style notch.
