Realme 12 Pro series 5G: Specs, features
Key core specs of both the Realme 12 Pro Plus 5G and Realme 12 Pro 5G have been announced ahead of Realme 12 Pro series 5G launch in India. Design and cameras, as we mentioned before, are big standouts.
The Realme 12 Pro Plus will be the first Realme phone since 2020 to come equipped with a periscope telephoto lens. The exact sensor type is yet to be revealed (it will be a 64-megapixel though) but the Realme 12 Pro Plus will be able to pull off 3x optical zoom (and up to 6x through in-sensor zoom) in photos and up to 120x digitally. There is the off chance that this may be the first and only phone in its segment to allow for some serious birdwatching. Naturally, Realme is marketing the phone as a “portrait expert.” The main camera sensor in the phone will be a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890.
While not explicitly confirmed, the Realme 12 Pro should also get some sort of telephoto capability, going by early teasers, just that it wouldn’t be a periscope one like the Realme 12 Pro Plus. The main camera sensor in the Realme 12 Pro will be a new Sony IMX882, also 50-megapixel. The said sensor has not been publicly launched yet so it’s safe to presume, the Realme 12 Pro would be the first smartphone to get it.
As for the design, which will also be a big USP of these phones, Realme has partnered with international luxury watch designer Ollivier Savéo and so both phones will come with luxury-watch inspired shenanigans including what appears to be a vegan leather back panel and a “polished sunburst dial” for the rounded camera assembly. Both phones are set to come in blue and beige.
The last piece of hardware confirmed for these phones is the chip. The Realme 12 Pro Plus will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 like the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Poco X6. The Realme 12 Pro will come with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 like the soon to launch Honor X9b. Stay tuned for more updates.
