Smartphones are getting expensive in 2026, and Oppo’s Reno 15 Pro is utilising this trend to its advantage by aiming for the premium segment. After the Find X9 series, the Reno 15 Pro brings some of the flagship experiences from its more expensive counterparts while ensuring a good camera experience as well as reasonably fast performance. While the more compact Mini variant drew attention, we tested out the Reno 15 Pro in realistic use conditions and the verdict has been quite surprising.
The Oppo Reno 15 Pro is priced starting at around Rs 67,999 in India for the 12GB + 256GB variant, with the 512GB model at Rs 72,999. With such a premium price, the Reno 15 Pro positions itself as a rival to the OnePlus 15, the iQOO 15, and a Vivo X300 premium phones. It also pits itself closely against last year’s iPhone 16 as well as the Google Pixel 10.
Design and Build
The Reno 15 Pro offers a premium feel with its sleek, slim profile (7.7mm thick and around 205g) and high-end materials. It features an aerospace-grade aluminum frame paired with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front. The standout element is Oppo’s HoloFusion glass back (shared across the series), which creates a pretty 3D visual effect through thousands of nano-curved structures, giving it a modern, eye-catching appearance in colour options like Sunset Gold and Cocoa Brown.
The Dynamic Stellar Ring camera module integrates seamlessly with a soft halo glow, and the phone boasts top-tier IP66/IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance—among the best in its class—along with sponge bionic cushioning for drop protection. The in-display fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate, and the overall ergonomics make it comfortable for extended use. This design feels more refined and durable than many competitors in the price range.
Display
One of the Reno 15 Pro’s highlights is its 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution (1272 x 2772 pixels), 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. Colours are vibrant and accurate, contrast is excellent, and viewing angles remain consistent. The LTPO technology enables smooth scrolling and power efficiency by dynamically adjusting refresh rates. Peak brightness reaches up to 3600 nits, ensuring excellent outdoor visibility even in harsh sunlight. Dual stereo speakers deliver clear, balanced audio with good separation, though high volumes show minor distortion. Overall, the display earns high praise for media consumption, gaming, and daily use.
Performance

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset (a 4nm octa-core processor), the Reno 15 Pro generally delivers smooth and dependable performance. With 12GB RAM (expandable virtually) and UFS storage options up to 512GB, it handles multitasking, app launches, and everyday tasks effortlessly—no lag or slowdowns as expected from a phone of its calls. Benchmark scores may not put it in the same class as its rivals that offer Qualcomm’s mighty Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. However, most casual users won’t find the performance to be bothersome. Gaming runs smoothly at high settings in titles like BGMI or COD Mobile, though it’s not a dedicated gaming beast like OnePlus 15, iQOO 15 and other higher-end flagships.
Since it is an Oppo phone, it runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. The interface is smooth, customisable, and feature-rich with AI integrations like AI Mind Space for content summarisation and organisation. It promises 5 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches. However, there are multiple pre-installed third-party apps as well as Oppo’s alternatives to Google’s app suite, all of which make the UI feel cluttered.
Camera performance
Photography remains a Reno series strength, and the Pro variant shines with a 200MP primary sensor (Samsung HP-series, with OIS for stable shots), a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto lens offering versatile zoom. The main camera captures rich detail, excellent dynamic range, punchy yet natural colours, and strong low-light performance. Portraits benefit from accurate edge detection, pleasing bokeh, and skin tone rendering with subtle AI enhancements. The ultrawide performs better than average, with minimal distortion and good consistency. Selfies from the 50MP front camera are detailed with strong background separation. On the whole, the photography performance is better than what you see on the OnePlus 15, but it is no match for the Vivo X300.
Battery and Charging
A massive 6500mAh battery provides good endurance, easily lasting a full day (or more) with moderate to heavy use, delivering 6-7 hours of screen-on time. Oppo’s 80W SuperVOOC wired charging refills from low to full in under an hour. Hence, as far as battery life is concerned, there shouldn’t be any concern regarding the battery stamina of the Oppo Reno 15.
Conclusion

The Oppo Reno 15 Pro comes across as a well-rounded package for users prioritising subtle yet pretty design, a bright and vibrant display, versatile cameras (especially portraits and zoom), long battery life, and fast charging. While it may not have the revolutionary raw power that its rivals offer for hardcore gamers, its balance of features makes it a strong contender in the Rs 60,000-Rs 75,000 segment.
To sum it up, if photography, aesthetics, and daily reliability matter most, the Reno 15 Pro is worth considering as a premium mid-range camera-centric smartphone.
