OpenAI seems to be back again with a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool. As reported by Bloomberg, the AI company is working on AI-powered tools for automating complex and time consuming tasks. The rumored feature could come by January 2025.
The new AI tool is named ‘Operator,’ and will be launched using OpenAI’s application programming interface. As of now this feature will only be available for developers only. Let’s have a detailed look at what the feature brings on the table!
Decoding ‘Operator’
OpenAI said that the new AI tool ‘Operator’ can help you to book flights , write code and even do research on a wide range of topics. The main aim of this AI tool is to simplify complex tasks. For example, coding takes quite a lot of time. But with AI you can write code within minutes. You don’t need to spend hours putting hard work into creating a code. AI will do it for you within minutes!
The new feature is a part of a wider trend in the tech industry towards adopting AI agents.Notably, AI agents are capable of handling complex tasks and is a more updated and advanced version of AI-driven virtual assistant or chatbot services.
The way ahead
As every organization is starting to adopt AI on a larger scale, big companies such as OpenAI, Google and Anthropic among others are also in this race. The latest example could be Google where Google’s Jarvis leaked through the Chrome web store. This feature seemingly has similar capabilities just like the upcoming OpenAI Operator tool. However, Google might launch Jarvis in December this year. The Jarvis prototype could be defined as, a helpful companion which can surf the web for you. Furthermore,as reported by The Information, Alphabet’s Google is expected to launch its own AI agent.
In other news, on Thursday OpenAI announced that it will bring an update for its AI tool ChatGPT. The update will introduce advanced web search functions directly within the most used chatbot. The updated ChatGPT, uses a fine-tuned version of the GPT-4o model. This update can suggest when to initiate a web search based on your queries. In addition to this it can also provide you with quick answers along with citations.
