OnePlus has officially unveiled OxygenOS 15, an upgrade that focuses on speed, design, and artificial intelligence capabilities. One of the standout innovations in OxygenOS 15 is Parallel Processing technology, which improves usability by refining animation interactions. This feature enables seamless transitions between applications, maintaining stability even when users are managing over 20 apps simultaneously. Additionally, OxygenOS 15 achieves a remarkable reduction in system storage, shrinking by nearly 20% compared to its predecessor, OxygenOS 14 on the OnePlus 12. This efficiency is primarily due to the removal of redundant features, allowing for optimal performance.
OxygenOS 15 places a strong emphasis on creativity with its powerful AI features. The AI Detail Boost function transforms low-resolution images into stunning 4K visuals, while the AI Unblur feature effectively corrects blurry images without the need for external applications. Another impressive capability, AI Reflection Eraser, removes reflections from photos taken through glass, restoring their natural quality and enhancing the overall photographic experience.
OnePlus has partnered with Google to implement Intelligent Search. This feature allows users to conduct searches using natural language queries, making it easier to find specific information across files, settings, or notes. Complementing this is the Circle to Search with Google function, which enables users to perform quick searches by simply drawing on the screen, thus streamlining interactions. Additionally, the Pass Scan feature provides flexibility by allowing users to scan both paper and digital boarding passes from the camera or photo album.
OxygenOS 15 also introduces AI Notes, which assist users in effectively formatting and structuring their notes. This voice-powered feature transcribes spoken thoughts while eliminating unnecessary fillers, ensuring clarity and conciseness. Furthermore, the AI Reply feature generates contextually relevant responses within chat applications, enhancing communication efficiency.
In another significant development, OnePlus will integrate the Google Gemini app as the default AI assistant in its upcoming devices. Gemini will aid users with various tasks, such as writing and planning, and the innovative Gemini Live feature will facilitate real-time voice interactions, soon available in over 40 languages.
The visual design of OxygenOS 15 features a new boot animation, updated icons, and streamlined design elements. The introduction of the Share with iPhone feature simplifies file sharing between OnePlus and iPhone users, fostering seamless interactions across platforms.
OxygenOS 15 introduces comprehensive theft protection mechanisms, automatically locking devices upon detecting suspicious movement. Users will benefit from remote lock capabilities and offline protections, with biometric verification required for sensitive actions. The open beta version of OxygenOS 15 will be available for the OnePlus 12 5G starting October 30, with AI features expected to roll out to select devices by the end of November.
