OnePlus 12 launch is just a day away. OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 11 successor in China on December 5, quite possibly alongside a bit more toned-down version called the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro/OnePlus 12R. Almost every spec and design detail has been confirmed leading into D-day and so, it’s safe to say that the OnePlus 12 is looking good, at least as far as first impressions go. We can’t wait for OnePlus to launch it in India but come December 5, we will know everything that there is to know about OnePlus’s next flagship.

The OnePlus 12 design has been confirmed to remain largely the same as the OnePlus 11. But apparently, there will be some refinements which should make for a more polished product. IP65 rating is on the cards, so is OnePlus’s rainwater tech feature. Under the hood, it will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and wireless charging is set to return, after missing out on the OnePlus 11. But wait, there’s more. The OnePlus 12 will have top shelf cameras and an improved cooling mechanism, a bigger battery, too. In short, there’s lots to unbox.

And so, here’s a sneak peek into the design, top specs, features and everything else you need to know about the OnePlus 12 ahead of its December 5 China launch:

  1. Design: The design of the OnePlus 12 is an evolution and continuity of “the well-accepted” OnePlus 11, OnePlus says. There will be some changes, but those would be “purposeful” refinements, the company adds. The most prominent change is that OnePlus has moved the alert slider on the phone from right to the left side. By relocating it to the left side, OnePlus is apparently able to improve the gaming antenna signal by 3dB and reduce the game latency by 15 percent. The phone is confirmed to come in a choice of white, black and green. The black version is matte, the white is glossy, while the green seems to have a 3D depth effect. OnePlus calls the new design, flowy emerald.
  2. Display: The OnePlus 12 has a 2K LTPO OLED display sourced from BOE. While not explicitly confirmed, we can expect it to be 6.82-inch. In theory, it offers a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which is unheard of at the time of writing. Only the Xiaomi 14 Pro stands a chance, and that too, tops out at 4,000 nits. If that wasn’t enough, OnePlus has put its rainwater touch technology into the panel and so, users will be able to get smooth touch responses in rain. Support for 2,160Hz PWM dimming is also confirmed.
  3. Processor: Powering the OnePlus 12 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Memory configurations are tipped as follows: 16GB/512GB, 16GB/1TB, and 24GB/1TB.
  4. Software: The OnePlus 12 in all probability should be based on ColorOS 14 (OxygenOS 14 globally) with Android 14.
  5. Cameras: The OnePlus 12 has a 50-megapixel main Sony LYT-808 sensor, 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 sensor behind an ultrawide lens and another 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor behind a 3x periscope telephoto lens. If it all seems familiar, it’s because it is the same exact setup from the OnePlus Open/Oppo Find N3 at least as far as the hardware is concerned. On the front, the OnePlus 12 is expected to come with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
  6. Battery, charging: Running the show is a 5,400mAh battery with 100W fast wired and 50W wireless charging. Reverse wireless charging is also supported.
  7. Other features: The USB Type-C port on the OnePlus 12 is USB 3.2 Gen 1 compliant and so, it can deliver up to 10Gbps transfer speed. The phone also comes with an IR blaster, “full-area multi-function NFC” and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
