It’s time to challenge your brain. The new puzzles have dropped from NYT Connections. The New York Times’ new word-related puzzle game- NYT Connections- has rapidly gained popularity among the masses. The daily word challenge, which tests players’ ability to group related words, is enjoying massive popularity, giving a tough fight to other popular world games such as Wordle.
What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is a word-related game that comes on The New York Times’ website and mobile app. Each puzzle offers a 4×4 grid of 16 words. The players have to find four groups of words that share a connection.
How to play NYT Connections?
Players get four chances to put the words in groups correctly. Each incorrect guess takes away your number of available attempts. The game colour codes the difficulty of each connection by colour: yellow (easiest), green (moderate), blue (challenging), and purple (most difficult).
— Analyse the words – Look at all 16 words and try spotting obvious links. Some groups, such as colours (red, blue, green, yellow) or famous actors, may stand out immediately.
— Look for synonyms and categories – Words with similar meanings or belonging to the same category may be grouped together.
— Check for tricky wordplay – Some words might have multiple meanings or be part of phrases. For example, “bark” could refer to the dog’s bark or a tree bark.
— Test your guesses wisely – Since you only have four chances, be fully sure before making the guesses. If unsure, you will reduce your remaining chances.
— Access the Undo feature – If a group is incorrect, rethink your choices rather than making random guesses.
Where to play NYT ‘Connections’
You can play for free on The New York Times website or in its Games app. A new puzzle is released at midnight.
How to improve your guesses
Some groups are easy to guess, but others may demand some critical thinking. If three words fit a theme but the fourth seems off, reconsider your selection. If two groups are clear, focus on how the remaining words might relate.
