A new leak has surfaced offering details about the upcoming Google Pixel Watch 3, expected to be unveiled alongside the Pixel 9 family at Google’s hardware event on August 13.
The biggest revelation is the introduction of multiple sizes. Unlike its predecessor, the Pixel Watch 3 will come in both 41mm and 45mm variants, catering to users with different preferences. This information has already been confirmed by the FCC.
The leak also suggests that the overall design will remain circular, but with a welcome improvement: slimmer bezels. Google is rumoured to be trimming a millimeter off the bezel size, bringing it down to 4.5mm from 5.5mm on the Pixel Watch 2.
Display quality appears to be another focus for the Pixel Watch 3. The leak points to a significant increase in peak brightness, reaching 2,000 nits compared to the 1,000 nits offered by the Pixel Watch 2. This should make the display considerably easier to see in bright outdoor conditions.
Internally, the Pixel Watch 3 is expected to retain the Snapdragon W5 SoC but with the addition of a custom co-processor made by Google. Battery life might also see an improvement, with the 41mm model getting a 310mAh battery and the 45mm model getting a 420mAh battery.
The leak further confirms previous rumours about Ultra-Wideband (UWB) support. This technology will allow for more precise device finding through Google’s Find My Device system. It also has the potential to unlock new features like using the Pixel Watch 3 as a car key, similar to some compatible Android phones.
While specific colours haven’t been confirmed for all models, the leak suggests the 41mm Pixel Watch 3 will come in silver, black, and gold, while the 45mm model might sport a unique Hazel colour option alongside black and silver.
