Google has finally taken wraps off its Pixel 8 series—Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro alongside Pixel Watch 2 at its second in-person “Made by Google” event after the pandemic in New York City. Rick Osterloh, SVP, Devices & Services at Google delivered the opening note.
Pixel 8 series price, availability
Pixel 8 comes in Rose, Hazel, and Obsidian colour options and starts at Rs 75,999. Meanwhile, its elder sibling Pixel 8 Pro comes in Bay, and Obsidian flavours and starts at Rs 1,06,999. Both the Pixel phones will be available to buy on Flipkart starting Oct 12.

Google’s new Pixel phones—Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have made their debut. The vanilla Pixel 8 features a 6.2″ Actua display with 120Hz refresh rate support and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 Pro features a 6.7″ Super Actua display with up to 120Hz and 2,400 nits peak brightness.
Under the hood, both Pixel phones pack the same Tensor G3 chipset with Titan M2 security microprocessor. Both phones run Android 14 out of the box, and will receive 7 years of OS and Security updates.
In terms of camera which has been the centre of the show, Pixel 8 gets a dual-camera setup on the rear: 50MP primary lens with SuperRes Zoom up to 8x, EIS and OIS, and 12MP ultra-wide lens. There’s a 10MP camera on the front. Meanwhile, Pixel 8 Pro features a triple-camera setup: 50MP primary lens, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens with SuperRes Zoom support for up to 30x. Moreover, it comes with some cool AI features like Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Motion auto-focus, Dual exposure controls Live HDR+, Magic Editor, and Best Take.
Pixel Watch 2 price, availability
The new Pixel phones are accompanied by a new Pixel Watch that comes in five colours— Polished Silver/Bay, Polished Silver/Porcelain, Matte Black/Obsidian, and Champagne Gold/Hazel, and two belts—Metal Slim and Active Sport. Pixel Watch 2 starts at Rs 39,900 and will be available to buy starting Oct 12 on Flipkart.

Google Pixel Watch 2 comes with enhancements in health and activity tracking, as well as an extended battery life compared to its previous model. Additionally, it introduces more comfortable and breathable straps. Google said that the battery now lasts up to 24 hours and promises up to 12 hours of battery life in 30 minutes of charge.
It runs Wear OS 4 and features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 320ppi, offering 1000 nits of brightness and an always-on display option. It packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chip (SW5100) equipped with 2GB of SDRAM and 32GB of eMMC storage. It gets three new sensors including a heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, skin temperature sensor, and more.
