Popular messaging app Telegram has teased its upcoming visionOS app, offering a glimpse into the immersive and interactive experience that users can expect on Apple’s upcoming augmented reality headset. The teaser, shared by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov on his personal channel, showcases a translucent design that seamlessly blends into the virtual environment, adhering to Apple’s visionOS design guidelines.
Telegram for visionOS features a convenient sidebar that displays a user’s ongoing conversations. When playing videos, they seamlessly extend beyond the interface, creating a more immersive experience. Emoji characters, when shared, take center stage on the screen, showcasing unique and animated expressions. Users can send messages either by using a virtual keyboard or through voice dictation using Siri.

The video was shared by Durov and first spotted by 9to5Mac. It shows an animated Telegram icon on the Home interface of the VisionOS with a slight popping effect when visually selected. This animated response serves as a visual indicator that the app is currently highlighted. Upon tapping, the app launches, utilising the Vision Pro headset’s eye and gesture navigation.
Anticipated for an early 2024 release, Apple’s Vision Pro is expected to pave the way for various third-party app experiences on the VisionOS. As the debut date approaches, we can expect a growing array of innovative and engaging applications designed for the upcoming platform.
