Ria Rustagi’s journey is a testament to her dedication to advancing brain health. Her academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Integrated Circuit Design from both the Technical University of Munich and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Ria began her career at Infineon Germany, joining the design team as the youngest engineer and the only Indian among a group of 40 professionals.
In 2016, Ria’s life was profoundly affected by the tragic loss of her sister, Pankhuri, to a rare brain infection. The pain and helplessness she felt drove her to address the gap in understanding brain health.
By 2020, Ria co-founded Neuphony with Bhavya Madan, aiming to revolutionize brain health through neurofeedback and Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology. Their vision was to create a wearable brain device that provides insights into mental states and guides personal improvement.

Ria’s work quickly garnered attention. She was featured in the UN’s Book of “Top 75 Women in Business” at the G20 Summit and included in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 for Consumer Tech. Google Startups also recognized Neuphony as one of the Top 10 Female-led startups.
Neuphony’s Brain Wearable EEG Device enables researchers and developers to build BCI applications, fostering a community dedicated to brain health advancements. Their “Brain Gyms” provide practitioners with data-driven approaches to therapy, allowing them to quantify brain activity and tailor interventions. Corporations benefit from workshops aimed at optimizing stress levels for peak performance.
Looking ahead, Ria and Neuphony aim to lead a global revolution in mental wellness through cutting-edge technology and compassionate advocacy. Their mission is to democratize brain health by making advanced neurofeedback and BCI technology universally accessible and integrative into daily life.
