Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra are gearing up for the release of their romantic comedy Param Sundari on August 29. Fans are excited to see the fresh pairing on screen, but there’s also a lot of buzz about how hard both stars have worked to get into shape for the film.
From changing their eating habits to pushing themselves during workouts, the two actors have left no stone unturned. However, recently, Janhvi’s trainer Namrata Purohit shared a video of the actress doing pilates, and it instantly caught attention. The video was shot just before Janhvi filmed one of the songs in Param Sundari, and many fans couldn’t help but wonder, is Pilates the secret behind her toned body and glowing energy?
Why pilates has become a go-to workout for bollywood stars
Pilates has become one of the most popular workout choices in Bollywood, with several actors swearing by it including Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and even Khushi Kapoor. But why does it work so well?
“Pilates is trending big right now, especially because a lot of celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor swear by it,” says Jitendra Chouksey, Founder and CEO of FITTR. “The reason it works for so many people is simple. It’s low impact, but very effective. The focus is on controlled movements, core strength, balance, and flexibility. That’s why it’s sustainable.”
For actors, it’s not just about looking fit on screen, but it’s also about staying injury-free while juggling long shooting schedules. Chouksey adds, “Most people today don’t just want to look fit, they want to move better and feel better. Pilates helps improve posture, mobility, and overall strength without putting too much stress on the joints.”
Who should try pilates?
The best part about Pilates is that it can be adjusted to suit almost anyone. “Whether you’re a beginner, an athlete, or someone older who wants to stay active, Pilates can be adjusted to suit your level,” explains Chouksey. “Since the chances of injury are lower, even older adults can do it safely,” he further said.
This is also why it has become such a hit among celebrities as pilates is effective, safe, and doesn’t require heavy weights or high-intensity moves for results.
Who should not do pilates?
That said, not everyone should jump into Pilates without guidance. “People with spine issues, injuries, or those recovering from surgery should be careful,” explains Chouksey. “Form is very important. Even simple moves can cause problems if done incorrectly. That’s why the right trainer makes all the difference,” he further explains.
‘There’s no age barrier for pilates’
Many people think Pilates is only for young women or celebrities, but that’s not true. “There’s no age barrier,” says Chouksey. “Young or old, anyone can do it as long as it’s made as per their ability. Fitness isn’t about age, it’s about training smart.”
At the end of the day, Pilates isn’t a quick-fix or magic workout. It’s simply a safe, effective way to build strength and flexibility. And as Janhvi Kapoor’s workout video shows, the results definitely speak for themselves.
