Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection: Siddhant Chaturvedi-Tripti Dimri starrer Dhadak 2 had a slow start to its opening day in theatres. With just Rs 3.35 crores on its first day, the film did not make an impact with the audience as it failed to beat the comedic drama ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ at the Indian box office.
With 17,000 tickets sold in Dhadak 2 advance bookings, the makers were sure of a Rs 6 crore opening day. However, low occupancy rates and unenthusiastic reviews contradicted their goals. Starring Saurabh Sachdeva, Zakir Hussain, Deeksha Joshi, and Vipin Sharma in key roles, the Shazia Iqbal directorial came as a sequel to Dhadak. This 2018 film debuted Ishan Khatter and Jahnvi Kapoor on the big screen.
Dhadak 2: Occupancy rates and more
As per Sacnilk reports, Chennai reported the highest occupancy rates wit 44% with the lowest coming from Surat, even below 10%! However, overall, the film did not manage to capture even 30% audience on its opening day. As it hits its first weekend, the Dhadak 2 team is eager for a miracle response.
Jaipur isn’t far behind, recording an impressive 35%, followed by NCR at 32.5% and Bengaluru at 28.25%. Bhopal and Mumbai also put up strong numbers, clocking 24.25% and 22.75% respectively, while Hyderabad and Kolkata stayed moderate around 16–17%.

While the audience has been kind with online reviews, Dhadak 2 did not even come close to beating romantic drama holdover Saiyaara, a debut film for Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The debutant duo made over Rs 20 crore on its opening day and the competition Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection crossed their target for the opening day.
Praised for the screenplay and performance by the actors, those who watched the film have appreciated it. But other have called out the film for “pushing the caste divide on screen,” a user on X (formerly Twitter) noted. The dramatic visuals and supporting song album has received high praise overall on social media. “Dhadak2 will not be a bigger hit than Saiyaara in terms of the box office. But Dhadak 2 is a better film than Saiyaara for sure,” posted a netizen on X.
