The IIFA Awards 2025 witnessed a historic moment as 17-year-old Nitanshi Goel clinched the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Female) award, surpassing Bollywood heavyweights Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Yami Gautam, and Shraddha Kapoor. The young star, who made her Bollywood debut in Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, was left teary-eyed as she accepted the prestigious honor for her portrayal of Phool Kumari in the critically acclaimed film.

Presented the award by Boman Irani and Bobby Deol, Nitanshi dazzled in a ruby-red gown and delivered an emotional acceptance speech, expressing gratitude to the film’s team and her family. Speaking to ANI after her big win, she admitted, “I wasn’t expecting this. The other nominees are incredible, and I’m a huge fan of all of them. I’m truly overwhelmed by the love I’ve received.”

Who is Nitanshi Goel?

Nitanshi Goel, hailing from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, began her journey in the entertainment industry as a child model, winning the Miss Pantaloons Junior Fashion Icon title in 2015. She later appeared in major brand advertisements for Biba, Amul, East Essence, and Indica Hair Color.

At just 9 years old, she made her television debut and went on to act in Naagarjuna: Ek Yoddha, Karmaphal Daata Shani, Ishqbaaz, Thapki Pyaar Ki, Daayan, and Peshwa Bajirao. Nitanshi also played roles in Bollywood films such as M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Indu Sarkar, and Hurdang. She has starred in web series like Love Sleep Repeat and Inside Edge 2.

A Rising Star

Apart from acting, Nitanshi is a trained Kathak dancer and singer. Her dedication and talent have earned her a massive fan base, with over 11 million Instagram followers, making her one of the youngest social media influencers in India.
