Varun Dhawan-starrer ‘Badlapur, the revenge drama that raised curiosity ever since its first look was launched, is going strong even as it entered its third week. The film continued its forward march and collected Rs 81 lakh on Friday, Rs 79 lakh on Saturday and Rs 90 lakh on Sunday.

The transformation of Varun Dhawan from a romantic hero to a man with a rugged look and revenge in his eyes, has been enough to create the right buzz for the film as   ‘Badlapur’ collected Rs 9.51 crore at the end of the second week and Rs 37.28 crore at the end of first week. Its total collection stands at Rs 50 crore by the end of the third weekend. The movie has collected over Rs 7 crore in the overseas market, with the highest coming from United Arab Emirates/G.C.C. region.

According to producer Dinesh Vijan, “Badlapur is a repeat watch primarily because of the layers the film has. I’m sure with the audience support we will have a great week three too.”

The film, well received by the audience and critics alike, has an ‘A’ rated tag from the censor board that has certainly affected its overall collections. However, despite this, the business has been good.
