Fans of the hit show Panchayat have some great news to celebrate. The much-loved rural drama is officially coming back for a fifth season on Amazon Prime Video. After the huge success of Season 4, which came out in June 2025, the creators have given the green light to continue the story of the tiny village of Phulera.
When will Season 5 be released?
While we don’t have an exact date yet, Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that Season 5 is already in the works. Because the show has fans in dozens of countries, the streaming platform didn’t want to wait too long to announce the news. Early reports suggest that we can expect the new episodes to arrive sometime in mid to late 2026. This timeline depends on how long it takes to film and finish the editing, but for now, 2026 is the year to look forward to.
Which actors are coming back?
A huge part of why Panchayat works is the amazing cast, and most of the favorites are expected to return. Jitendra Kumar is set to come back as the secretary, Abhishek Tripathi, while the iconic duo of Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav will reprise their roles as Pradhan and her husband.
Sanvikaa, who plays Rinki, is also expected to be part of the new season. The chemistry between these actors is what makes the show feel so real and relatable, so there is a lot of relief that the main gang is staying together for the next chapter.
What will the Panchayat 5 story be about?
The creators are keeping the plot secrets locked away for now, but there is plenty of gossip. Season 4 left us with several cliffhangers, especially regarding the local village politics and leadership changes in Phulera.
Everyone is curious to see what happens next with Abhishek’s career. Now that he has seen some success with his exams, will he finally leave the village, or will something keep him there? There is also the blooming relationship between Abhishek and Rinki that fans are dying to see more of.
When the holiday season began, the industry had high hopes that all four major releases would be huge hits. However, as the numbers come in, the situation has changed. For now, we just have to wait for the official trailer to see what kind of trouble and laughter the people of Phulera get into next.
