Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade box office collections opened on a slow note with occupancy rate of 30 per cent on Friday that translated to an earning of Rs 7.99 crore on day 1.

The second day collections improved because it was a Saturday and people came to theatres in increasing numbers, but the gain was not very high as the earnings logged were just Rs 6.11 crore.

This has taken the film’s total (net) in India to Rs 11.7 crore, while the tally (gross approx.) is put at Rs 16.71 crore (there is no foreign take revealed for the movie). With Sunday figures yet to come in, the film no doubt is totally dependent on word of mouth boost as the reviews about the movie have been quite mixed.

The Milap Zaveri directed sex comedy Mastizaade which features Sunny Leone in a double role along with Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das is expected to pick up over time.

This week saw the release of two films in the form of the Sunny Leone starrer sex comedy Mastizaade and an inspirational tale in the form of Saala Khadoos and both are having to compete with last week’s top release, the popular Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift, which itself is in its second week in theatres and has almost entered the elite Rs 100 crore club with its India take.
