The highly anticipated Peaky Blinders film has officially wrapped production, Netflix India announced on Instagram Thursday. “It’s a wrap—by the order of the Peaky Blinders,” read the post, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes shot of Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan on set.

Fans flooded the comments with excitement. “Can’t wait to watch!” exclaimed one, while another added, “So, so excited!”

Directed by Tom Harper, who helmed episodes of the original series, the movie is described as “an epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga”. Set in the lawless streets of 1900s Birmingham, the film picks up after the series finale, which aired in 2022.

Production began in September, and glimpses of Murphy’s iconic return as Tommy Shelby sent waves of nostalgia through fans. Creator Steven Knight penned the screenplay and co-produces alongside Murphy, Caryn Mandabach, and others.

Murphy, who gained global fame as the cunning Tommy Shelby, has promised the movie is “one for the fans.” After the series concluded, Murphy further cemented his stardom with a critically acclaimed performance in Oppenheimer.

As the Shelby family saga transitions to the big screen, fans eagerly await what promises to be a gripping chapter of betrayal, power and redemption. The film will debut exclusively on Netflix.
